I really enjoyed this place even though I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I am an avid BBQ connoisseur. My better half wanted to try this place during our visit to Portland and being let down by an out of stock from a place in Astoria.
First off, the order taker was very helpful in explaining the menu offerings and provided a very thorough description of each item and gave comparison's to it animal substitute. Well done person! After making our selections we went to our table to patiently wait for our lunch.
The dining room space is very clean and inviting with a great view of the passers by with large windows in the front of the building. The decor is also in good taste featuring relics from the area as well as local artist creations for sale in the rear of the dining room. There is also several picnic table on the side of the building to enjoy your meal outdoors. The one down fall of the building was the bathroom. Definitely time to upgrade and refinish.
Our "frickles" came out first which were some of the best I've had anywhere. Crunchy spears served with a creamy ranch like dip that was delicious. I tried the Philty nocheese steak sammie which is their take on a Philly cheese steak. I felt the portion was fair and the flavor and texture were comparable to the real deal. Next we had the equivalent of a pulled pork sammie (forgot name) made with soy curls and or jackfruit to mimic the texture of real pork. Once again great flavor, and I liked to slaw and sauce addition to taste like a "real" pulled pork sammie.
Overall great visit and fantastic service was provided this visit. Definitely recommend giving this a try if your in the St John's area. -

I've been here several times. It's definitely a trip to get to if you don't live in or near St. John, and the parking situation can be hit or miss (neighborhood parking) depending on when you go. As a vegan though, this is a must visit and an indulgence to be enjoyed often.

Mac and Cheese was quite good. Creamy even though no milk was used.
I didn't like the soy based meat products though. Felt very rubbery, maybe was an off day. -

If you like big portions, barbecue and vegan food you're in luck because this joint has it all.
I shared the 2 combo plate with my meat eatin' mans and he loved it. We even had left overs so we could eat the mac no cheese for breakfast.
This place has something for everyone, even the meat lovin' veggie haters. Give them a seitan rib, mac no cheese, wings or hush puppies. You really can't go wrong here.
Peace, feast and no meat grease! -

Place is relaxed, not too crowded, food and selection is EXCELLENT! Not really a spot if you are in a rush, but totally worth the wait! The line-cooks all look serious, maybe because they care about what they're doing. I got the buff burrito, the size of a healthy 4-6 week-old (meat-free) puppy... it was the bomb diggity... it was stuffed with an excellent smoked-tofu-ish imitation chix + mac n cheese combo... yummo!
